Pureview Lumia
08/04/2012 14:41
This is definitely a prototype of some sort, this Nokia Pureview Lumia, a device with Windows Phone 8 on board and a very unusual design. It would involve some very risky design choices from both Microsoft and Nokia and I’m not sure they’re ready to make the plunge into an extremely curved device with a big camera bulk…
Nokia PureView Lumia Windows Phone 8 Units Looks Like a Conceptual Design
This model is supposed to feature a 4.3 inch Curved Glass display with HD resolution, a 41 megapixel camera sensor, similar to the one on the Nokia PureView model shown at MWC 2012. This camera would use Carl Zeiss lens, PureView imagine technology and support 1080p full HD recording and rich recording technology. Inside the Lumia PureView you’d find a dual core processor with Adreno 320 GPU, most likely the Qualcomm S4 CPU that’s been everywhere lately, from the HTC One series to the ASUS PadFone.
Finally I can’t help but notice that the Home button on the device sports the Windows 8 logo. Will Windows Phone 8 finally achieve that platform unification we’ve heard rumors about, between Win 8 and WP7? In the end I can’t help but ask you: do you see this as a real device or merely a prototype that will change design when it’s finalized?

802
02/04/2012 00:07
Well, there’s one way to make a concept original and that is create a stunning hardware design and slap on it an antique OS. I’m talking about the Nokia 802 concept, a beautiful transparent phone, but one that runs Symbian Belle if I’m not mistaking. This is the creation of Thair Joudi. At least it could have had MeeGo…
Nokia 802 Concept is Transparent, Features... Symbian
Well, getting over this whining, some people actually love Symbian and consider it a viable OS. As far as the device goes, it’s a slab of transparent material that reminds me of the Nokia futuristic phone spotted in the movie Real Steel. There are tons of ways you can use a transparent display phone, one of them being a huge viewfinder for your camera, plus tons of augmented reality applications, interaction with NFC tags and live photo tagging/geotagging and identification of Facebook contacts.
If I were to phantasize I’d say that about 6 phones like this, united through a revolutionary technology could create a tablet or something close to it. Sadly there are bezels standing in the way of that project. Anyway, this render is great and I hope it gets a lot of appreciation.

Nokia 12 Inch Tablet Runs Windows 8, Uses AMOLED Display
02/04/2012 00:05
Mohamed Magdy, the guy who created the Nokia Snow handset also created a tablet with a 12 inch display, that you can see below. We’re dealing with a Windows 8 device here, that uses a 12 inch 1920 x 1080 resolution and it’s based on AMOLED technology. There’s also an 8 megapixel front camera for HD video calls.

At the back there’s a 12 megapixel Carl Zeiss optics camera with autofocus and dual LED flash and you must know that this Nokia concept tablet comes with 4 surround sound speakers and a kickstand for better movie viewing on any surface. There’s also a HDMI port on board and an USB 3.0 port bundled here. The slate has rounded edges, a metallic area around the bezel, as shown in these images and might make a pretty good product some day. The thing is that Nokia will have to make this product light, or else it will become too bulky or heavy, especially with that 12 inch screen.
I expect to see a real Nokia Tablet sometime this summer, maybe during Nokia Connection 2012, who knows? The CPU is a mystery here, so it could be a Qualcomm one or maybe an Intel one… What do you think?

Snow
02/04/2012 00:03
Mohamed Magdy is the same guy who designed the Nokia C8 handset that I’m sure you’ve seen. Today I’ve come across another design of his, the Nokia Snow, that’s detailed in the pictures and video below. This is a 4 inch smartphone with a 1000 x 600 pixel resolution and a beautiful glass body with chrome edges. You can find some other concepts made by Mohamed right here.
Nokia Snow 4 Inch Phone Features 14MP Camera, Windows Phone 7
The screen is a Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen and other specs of the Nokia Snow model include a front 2 MP camera, a 14.1 megapixel camera at the back, with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus and LED flash. There’s also a SIM card slot on board, a microSD card slot, a microUSB 3.0 port, micro HDMI and a noise cancelation microphone. The device is supposed to run Windows Phone 7 and it adopts a flat design for its case. I like those Windows buttons very much, since they’re integrated into the device discretely.
The back of the phone and its rounded edges, plus that touch of chrome make it a pretty elegant device, certainly fancier than those plastic units Lumia 710 and Lumia 610. Is this better than the Nokia Lumia 800? Can’t really say, as they’re different designs, both pretty good. What’s Nokia going to come up with once they’ve used up the N9 form factor? We’ll have to wait and see…

Lumia Expresso Windows 8 Concept Tablet Features 10.1 Inch
02/04/2012 00:01
The folks of Mynokiablog are back with a new Windows 8 Nokia tablet concept, that looks very much like the Nokia Tab we saw a while ago. This model is called the Nokia Lumia Expresso, so it’s guess it’s related to that “coffee tablet” they’ve shown us. This Windows 8 device features a 10.1 inch ClearBlack AMOLED display with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.

There’s also a 1.2GHz quad core processor on board, 2GB of RAM, 32/64/128GB storage, a 12 megapixel camera and a 2MP front facing camera. WiFi, 3G, quad speakers and NFC are also on board and the Nokia Lumia Expresso is capable of wireless charging among others. Its most surprising feature is that it incorporates a projector, able to project a whole keyboard in front of it. The design is very N9-like and also looks a bit like the exterior part of the display on the Booklet 3G.
I can’t understand why designer Tris Clark decided to include the Windows, Back and Search buttons on the lower part of the display, since those can be display in the Charm area in Windows 8. There’s also a Play 360 speaker in the mix, paired to the Nokia concept tablet via NFC. Those quad speakers also sound like a good idea, so a great multimedia experience is ensured.
