Windows Phone 7 on Nokia Smartphone, Just a Concept So Far
21/02/2011 03:13
Frustrated with the lack of quality of Symbian, even in its latest versions people started dreaming about running Android or Windows Phone 7 on Nokia handsets. Right now we’ve got a poster in London showing Nokia devices running Android, but that was an error of the people making the posters… Now let’s see how Windows Phone 7 looks on a Finnish smartphone!
Considering that Nokia’s current CEO was a Microsoft official, it wouldn’t be impossible for future N-Series units to adopt this platform. The following phone is the created of Michal Bonikowski & Rafal Pilat and we’re dealing with magnesium alloy handset running WP7 and featuring an 8MP camera at the back.
The design reminds us of a HTC device, but it also borrows a few traits from Nokia’s trademark back case. Well, we can imagine that this is the Nokia N9 and WP7 got ported on it… right?

N8-01 Touch and Play Concept Improves the Existing N8 (Video)
21/02/2011 03:11
Many people are discontent with the current Nokia N8, so they dream about changing the handset and improving its specifications. Iffan Morasilp from Thailand stopped dreaming and started designing, so he created the Nokia N8-01 Touch and Play handset. You’ll learn the specs of the concept after the break.
The smartphone comes with a 3.7 inch Gorilla Glass display, an 8MP Carl Zeiss camera with support for 1080p video capture, a D-pad and gaming keys. HDMI is also on board, as well as support for 4G connectivity and Dolby Digital Plus. It’s very likely that this is a Symbian^3 phone, although most of the Nokia concepts we’ve seen lately are based on MeeGo…
Do you fancy such an N8 upgrade?

N10 MeeGo Handset, not That Futuristic (Video)
21/02/2011 03:09
Actually, the Nokia N10 MeeGo phone might become real in a matter of months, so it’s a bit unfair to call this design a concept. The idea of the phone below belongs to Peter Lackman, who created the Nokia N10, based on Nokia and Intel’s jointly developed platform.
No specs list sadly, but we know the handset comes with a huge screen (4 inches maybe?), the 12MP camera on the N8 plus quad LED flash, HDMI and a 4 row tilt hinge QWERTY keyboard. NFC is also included and there’s a nifty video showing the MeeGo UI running on the concept right here:

Can’t really say what’s lacking from this handset… Gigs of internal memory? WiMAX? A projector? What else?

2030 Cellphone Features an Illuminated Touch Keypad
21/02/2011 03:06
Here’s the Nokia cellphone concept of 2030, in case you wanted a taste of the future… Created by Jim Chan, the Nokia 2030 features a scratch-resistant finished body, plus a full color display and an illuminated touch keypad.
Fast messaging is the purpose of this unit and we learn that the phone measures 2 x 4.75 x 0.25 inches and attaches colored films at the rear, to change its color. Polished titanium is the choice of metal for the case area that protects the screen. This handset looks like some sort of futuristic keycard that grants access to a high tech facility and we bet it’ll have e-wallet features and a transparent UI.

Aura MeeGo Concept Phone Is Simplistic and Beautiful
21/02/2011 03:03
We’re back with another Nokia MeeGo concept phone, this time one with present day specs, so no futuristic features here. We’re talking about the Nokia Aura, packing a 4 inch touchscreen display, a slim case and a 12MP camera with Xenon flash, plus HDMI. Basically, this MeeGo phone is a bigger N8 with a very appealing design.
The device’s profile is convex on both sides, something you won’t find on many mobile phones, plus it’ll aid with the ergonomics. Nokia Aura’s body is made out of aluminum, for a lighter handset and a more quality feel to it. The rest of the devices specs include a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm audio jack, a camera button and a microUSB connector.
What do you think about this Nokia N8 upgrade?
