Samsung nivelle par le bas sa gamme Galaxy avec l'annonce du Core, un smartphone Android doté d'un écran 4,3 pouces, qui sera décliné en versions simple et double carte SIM. Le prix devrait selon toute attente se révéler attractif.
Toujours très prolixe lorsqu'il s'agit d'étoffer ses gammes, Samsung lancera d'ici le mois de mai le Galaxy Core, un nouveau smartphone Android doté d'un écran de 4,3 pouces (10,9 cm). Ici, le sud-coréen ne vise pas le segment des terminaux très haut de gamme - sur lequel il place son Galaxy S4 - mais le tout venant, avec un appareil dont les prestations augurent un prix maîtrisé.
Celles-ci se situent en effet très en deçà des canons du genre, avec un écran limité à une définition de 800 x 480 pixels, un Android en version 4.1 et un capteur photo 5 mégapixels limité à la vidéo en 480p, 1 Go de mémoire vive et 8 Go de stockage, extensibles via un emplacement microSD.
Le Galaxy Core se veut tout de même suffisamment outillé pour des usages mobiles modernes, avec un processeur double-coeur cadencé à 1,2 GHz (référence non précisée), la compatibilité 3G+ et la présence de puces A-GPS, WiFi 802.11n et Bluetooth 3.0. Équipé d'une batterie 1800 mAh, il affiche en outre des dimensions contenues, de l'ordre de 130 x 67,6 mm, avec seulement 8,95 mm d'épaisseur et un poids estimé à 124 grammes.
Samsung signale par ailleurs la possibilité de charger sur l'appareil certaines de ses applications dédiées à la commande vocale ou gestuelle, dont le fameux S Voice ou Smart Stay, censé savoir quand l'utilisateur regarde effectivement l'écran du téléphone de façon à optimiser la consommation électrique de ce dernier.
Le Samsung Galaxy Core devrait faire son entrée sur le marché dans le courant du mois de mai. Il sera suivi, en juillet, d'une variante munie de deux logements pour carte SIM, permettant donc d'utiliser deux lignes au sein d'une seule et même interface.
Prix public, dates de lancement précises et éventuels partenariats opérateurs n'ont pas encore été précisés.

La gamme Galaxy Tab 3 de tablettes tactiles chez Samsung est attendue depuis plusieurs mois avec de nombreuses spéculations sur les modèles et leurs caractéristiques. Absente du salon MWC 2013, qui avait pourtant servi de rampe de lancement aux générations précédentes, c'est vers des modèles 10,1", et surtout une tablette Galaxy Tab 3 8" que s'orientaient les rumeurs.
Le fabricant coréen a finalement levé le voile sur le premier membre de la famille Galaxy Tab 3 est c'est une tablette dotée d'un écran 7" qui ouvre le bal et va venir se frotter à un créneau des tablettes d'entrée de gamme déjà bien rempli.
Rappelons que Samsung a déjà annoncé une tablette Galaxy Note 8.0 durant le salon MWC 2013 de Barcelone en février et qu'une nouvelle tablette 8" à si peu d'intervalle aurait peut-être été contre-productif...ce qui ne veut pas dire, étant donné la stratégie d'occupation du terrain du groupe, qu'elle ne sera pas proposée ultérieurement.
La tablette embarque un affichage 7" 1024 x 600 pixels et utilise un processeur 1,2 GHz, avec de 8 à 16 Go d'espace de stockage, extensible par carte mémoire. Ne faisant pas l'impasse sur l'APN dorsal comme la Nexus 7, cette Galaxy Tab 3 7" dispose d'un capteur 3 megapixels au dos et d'un APN 1,3 megapixels en façade pour la visioconférence.
Dotée d'une batterie 3000 mAh et armée d'Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, elle sera proposée en version WiFi seul dès le mois de mai 2013 et à partir du mois de juin dans une version compatible 4G LTE. Pas de prix annoncé mais il devrait être attractif et dans la lignée de ce qui se fait actuellement, entre 150 et 200 €.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini has been tentatively confirmed by two official sources – Samsung SVP Lee Keon Hyok and Samsung’s support page. We can add one more to the list, the User Agent profile.
The profile confirms the qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution of the screen, which is 4.3" in diagonal according to rumors, working out to 256ppi. It’s most likely going to be a Super AMOLED screen, so here’s hoping it’s not the same PenTile unit used in the Motorola RAZR i or the HTC One S.
That’s all the info we can tease out of the profile, but the rumored specs of the Galaxy S4 mini include an 8MP camera, 1.6GHz dual-core processor (possibly a Cortex-A15 packing Exynos 5250 like in the Galaxy Megas), Android 4.2.2 and latest TouchWiz. Versions with LTE and dual-SIM should be available too.

Detailed specifications of two upcoming Samsung tablets have just surfaced. The third generation of the Galaxy Tab mid-range lineup will feature a couple of slates armed with a 10.1" and an 8" display, respectively. Interestingly, the picture that came along with the leak confirms the hardware home button, which is still unusual for Android slates.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will run on Andrdoid 4.1 Jelly Bean and will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU and will have 1GB of RAM. That might as well be a typo as the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 is said to have 2 gigs of operating memory. Unfortunately, earlier reports of a 2560 x 1600 pixel display weren't confirmed and the new rumors point to a resolution of just 1280 x 800 pixels.
The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will reportedly have 16GB of internal memory, which will be expandable through the microSD card slot. Connectivity options will include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, standard microUSB port and, depending on the version, HSPA or LTE. Power will be supplied by a 7,000 mAh battery, while imaging will be taken care of by a 3MP main camera and a 1.3MP front-facing snapper.
The larger of the two upcoming slates will reportedly measure 256.7 x 175.3 x 8.7 mm and weigh just 533g. That will make it both thinner and lighter than the Galaxy Note 10.1, which is the current Samsung flagship tablet.
Galaxy Tab 3 8.0
Moving on to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, we learn that it will feature the same CPU as its bigger brother. The 8" display will have a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and will be your window to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean at launch.
Connectivity options and cameras are the same as on the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, while the battery has been trimmed down to 4,500 mAh capacity. If the rumors turn out true, the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 will be impressively slim at 6.95mm, but will weigh 330g - about the same as the Galaxy Note 8.0.
The 3G versions of the Galaxy Tab 3 duo are expected to come to the market in May, while the 4G units will go on sale in June-July. Pricing of either device is unknown at this point.
