Smartphones with 2GHz CPUs seem to be the new trend, as we’ve seen a Motorola concept with such a processing power just days ago and now a Samsung unit promises to deliver the same. We’ve stumbled upon the following render of the Samsung i9200 Galaxy S2, a design that would fit such a powerful device. Supposed to be launched in 2011, the unit packs a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED 2 display, 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, an 8 megapixel camera with full HD video recording, 32GB of internal memory, Bluetooth 3.0, accelerometer, WiFi b/g/n and A-GPS. Android 3.0 is the OS of choice for the Galaxy S2. Is this a viable smartphone of the year 2011?
Johan Loekito has found a way for you not to lose your mobile phone ever again. It’s called Samsung Proxima and it’s a concept that involves a cellphone with a wristband acting like a dock. The handset is detachable and it gets pictured below.
There’s also a proximity sensor on board of the Samsung concept phone, making the wristband emit a tone or vibrate if the phone is too far from it. This also helps the user find the device with a single button press. Samsung Proxima is able to detect other users with the same phone in your area and lets you contact them.
Of course, privacy settings can be changed, so you can hide your whereabouts.
Today Samsung announced three new QWERTY devices, one of which is the Samsung SGH-t669 Gravity T, a messaging phone for T-Mobile.
The device offers a 2.8-inch touchscreen, a full HTML browser with 1-finger zoom, support for microSD cards up to 16GB in size, a 2 megapixel camera, a 1000mAh battery for up to 6 hours of talk time, and support for T-Mobile's 3G data network. The Gravity T also supports Exchange and personal email accounts. Like the Gravity 3 and the Samsung :), the phone also offers T-Mobile's Social Buzz application for staying in touch with your social networks easily from the homescreen.
The Samsung Gravity T is available from T-Mobile today for $74.99 with a two year contract.
Yesterday Samsung and T-Mobile announced the SGH-t479 Gravity 3 feature phone, and we had a chance to meet up with Samsung in New York City last night to grab some up-close photos of the device.
The SGH-t479 Gravity 3 offers both an alphanumeric keypad and a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. A feature phone that will likely be attractive to teens, the Gravity 3 offers a 2 megapixel camera, up to 6 hours of talk time with its 1000mAh battery, aGPS, and T-Mobile's Social Buzz application which helps you stay up-to-date on your social networks.
The SGH-t479 Gravity 3 costs $49.99 with a 2-year T-Mobile contract and is available now.
