Après le HTC Sensation XE, le fabricant taiwanais dévoile le HTC Sensation XL avec Beats Audio, smartphone Android doté d'un très large écran 4,7".
 HTC suivrait-il le même chemin que Samsung dans la déclinaison de ses gammes ? Au-delà du HTC Sensation, modèle phare dévoilé au mois d'avril, le fabricant annonce coup sur coup le HTC Sensation XE avec Beats Audio ( en septembre ) et désormais le HTC Sensation XL avec Beats Audio ( connu sous le nom de code HTC Runnymede ).
Le nouveau terminal joue à fond sur les performances multimédia après avoir dans la société Beats Audio pour mettre en avant une qualité audio hors du commun sur ses terminaux et offrir une différenciation par rapport à la concurrence.
Le HTC Sensation XL tire donc parti de cette collaboration qui se retrouvera à tous les niveaux du divertissement permis par le terminal, de l'écoute de musique aux jeux en passant par le visionnage de films.
Le smartphone, de dimensions 132,5 x 70,7 x 9,9 mm pour 162 g, est une machine de divertissement à part entière, en plus de sa fonction téléphonie, grâce à son affichage 4,7" 800 x 480 pixels et son processeur 1,5 GHz signé Qualcomm ( MSM8255 ), assorti de 768 Mo de RAM et 16 Go de mémoire interne.
Terminal très complet
 Le HTC Sensation XL est doté des connectivités sans fil WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS ( avec boussole numérique ) et embarque les capteurs d'un terminal haut de gamme : gyroscope, accéléromètre, capteurs de luminosité et de proximité.
Sa batterie de 1600 mAh promet jusqu'à presque 12 heures d'autonomie en communication 2G ou 7 heures en communications 3G, et de 360 à 460 heures en veille. Le HTC Sensation XL propose également un APN 8 megapixels au dos ( avec enregistrement vidéo en 720p ) et un APN 1,3 megapixels en façade pour la visioconférence.
Le terminal embarque Android 2.3 Gingerbread, avec la surcouche tactile HTC Sense. On y trouve aussi le service de VOD HTC Watch. Le HTC Sensation XL avec Beat Audio sera disponible à partir du mois de novembre 2011, dont une version coffret en édition limitée avec écouteurs Beats Solo, pour un prix non communiqué.

Le constructeur HTC vient d’officialiser le smartphone Explorer, aussi connu sous le nom de Pico.
 Propulsé par un processeur Qualcomm SnapDragon MSM7227 à 600 MHz et pourvu de 384 Mo de mémoire vive, il s’agit d’un smartphone tout tactile évoluant sous environnement Android 2.3 Gingerbread avec surcouche graphique maison Sense UI 3.5 et accès à la plate-forme d’applications Android Market.
Celui-ci propose un écran LCD tactile capacitif 3,2 pouces en 262 144 couleurs et en résolution 320 x 480 pixels ( HVGA ), une sortie casque, une compatibilité réseau 2G / 3G, une connectivité Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n avec fonction hotspot, une connectivité Bluetooth 3.0 avec gestion A2DP / EDR, une puce pour la navigation GPS, une boussole électronique, un appareil photo numérique 3,15 Mégapixels avec autofocus / détection des visages / géotagging, un lecteur multimédia et une radio FM RDS.
Il propose pour terminer une mémoire flash de 512 Mo extensible au moyen d’une carte mémoire dont la capacité peut atteindre les 32 Go et synchronisable en USB 2.0. Le tout dans un format 10,3 x 5,8 x 1,3 centimètre et alimenté par une batterie Lithium-Ion 1 230 mAh.
