Nokia AMeego 2 Way Slider Concept Phone is a Powerful Machine
21/02/2011 03:30
Nokia is the way to go these days, as we approach MWC 2011 and we’re only dealing with designs here, not real devices, sadly. This time it’s Abhay Vir who created a stunning Nokia handset, the AMeego, pictured below and sporting a 2 way slider design.
Based on the MeeGo OS, Nokia AMeego features a 4.1 inch display (AMOLED multitouch), with a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution and 4.3 aspect ratio. The phone supports GSM quadband connectivity, 3G, EDGE, GPRS, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP and uses a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, accompanied by 1GB RAM and 2GB ROM.
64GB of built in memory, plus a 64GB microSD card will also do the job and believe it or not, MeeGo 2.0 will support Android apps. A 12MP Xenon Flash camera is placed at the back of the device, complete with geotagging, autofocus, image stabilization, smile detection and 720p video capture at 30fps. The 2 way slider measures 17mm in thickness and weighs 170 grams. Brilliant piece of equipment, I have to say!

N14 MeeGo Phone Features 4 Inch Super AMOLED Display
21/02/2011 03:27
We’re back with a Nokia concept phone, the N14, pictured below and running MeeGo 1.2. This handset was created by designer shihuzaan and it’s part of the Dream Nokia initiative from Mynokiablog. 14 designs are already available, so maybe this explains the name of the Nokia N14. Now let’s see what the phone is all about.
As you can see, its design is a combo between the Nexus One and Nokia Prism, complete with an anodized aluminum casing and a 4 inch Super AMOLED display, with a 800 x 480 pixel resolution. This is a capacitive multitouch display and at the back of the N14 we also find an 8MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus and Xenon Flash.
There’s also a 1GHz CPU on board, 512MB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot. Bluetooth 3.0 and a removable battery complete the specifications of this unreal device, that we hope Nokia will see and draw some ideas from.

N9 MeeGo Phone Slides and Plays Media Like No Other
21/02/2011 03:24
You know it’s time for a new Nokia concept phone when everyone’s talking about dual core smartphones at CES 2011 and people seem to have forgotten about the sleeping Finnish giant… Designed by a guy called “SuperHero”, Nokia N9 is a MeeGo handset that popped up on the MeeGo forum.
We’re dealing with a sliding QWERTY smartphone with a curved design, a huge display and support for advanced multitasking. For example you can chat on the phone and perform other tasks with ease. Bluetooth and social networking are also supported and we’re sure a potent camera and HDMI out found their way in there, too.
Definitely loving that edge to edge display without borders!

N11 Features a 3D Camera, is a Dual Boot MeeGo/Symbian Gaming Handset
21/02/2011 03:16
We’re back with the Nokia concepts and this time the N11 brings something extra: a 3D camera and dual core CPU. Nokia N11 is a concept MeeGo gaming phone made by Lonely Cent (Dhivehi Dhari), that adopts the design of the N81/iPhone 4 and brings gaming buttons as extras.
This is a dual OS phone, that uses both MeeGo 1.2 and Symbian, thanks to a dual core 1GHz CPU. 512MB of RAM are also on board, as well as 16GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot and the usual Nokia anodized aluminum casing. The display upfront if a CBD 4 inch AMOLED unit with a 800 x 480 pixel resolution.
3D image capture and a removable battery complete the specs list and you must notice that the images included in this article also show the front gaming keys on the device, so this makes us think of an N-Gage follow-up.. Would you buy the N11 if it were real?

Windows Phone 7 on Nokia Smartphone, Just a Concept So Far
21/02/2011 03:13
Frustrated with the lack of quality of Symbian, even in its latest versions people started dreaming about running Android or Windows Phone 7 on Nokia handsets. Right now we’ve got a poster in London showing Nokia devices running Android, but that was an error of the people making the posters… Now let’s see how Windows Phone 7 looks on a Finnish smartphone!
Considering that Nokia’s current CEO was a Microsoft official, it wouldn’t be impossible for future N-Series units to adopt this platform. The following phone is the created of Michal Bonikowski & Rafal Pilat and we’re dealing with magnesium alloy handset running WP7 and featuring an 8MP camera at the back.
The design reminds us of a HTC device, but it also borrows a few traits from Nokia’s trademark back case. Well, we can imagine that this is the Nokia N9 and WP7 got ported on it… right?
