    Gemstone is a Luxury Smartphone

    Gemstone is a Luxury Smartphone

What if HTC started making luxury smartphones? Designer Sylvain Gerber sees this as possible and proves with a brand new concept phone, the HTC Gemstone. This is an Android phone with an AMOLED screen and borrowing design elements from HTC Touch Diamond 1 and 2.

The metal shell at the back and overall look of the device make it a luxury item and we wouldn’t be surprised if a gem or two made its way onto the handset. An animated graphic is engraved on the back of the smartphone, resembling the shape of gemstones. Pretty neat, right?

Loading ... Loading ... Antoine Brieux showed us a teaser of the promising HTC Touch HD Dual (HTC HDD) last week and now he’s back with the final version of the concept. Don’t expect to see this handset in shops, since it’s only a mere design, but maybe HTC will use it as an inspiration for its future projects. Click on the following images to see them enlarged:

This multi OS device comes with impressive specs, like 1080p video recording, HDMI connectivity, screen optimization and a hard buttons manager detailed below. Also, the full specifications list is mentioned in the last image, with the most impressive feats being the 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, 10 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and 4G connectivity.

This device is able to run Android 2.2 or Windows Phone 7 or even switch between them with ease, also relying on the 1GB of RAM memory. It’s highly likely that till next summer we’ll get to see such handsets on the market, or even sooner. Great job Antoine!

HD3 Concept Runs Windows Phone 7, Uses HTC Sense 3

HD3 Concept Runs Windows Phone 7, Uses HTC Sense 3

Loading ... Loading ... Well, look what the tech geek cat dragged in: a fresh HTC concept, the HD3, adorned with HTC Sense 3 on top of Windows Phone 7. This stunning piece of work belongs to XDA Developer member _LeCiel_, also known as Luke Basarab. HTC HD3 comes with built in speakers on the side of the screen, a front facing camera, HDMI out and a micro USB port.

6 hardware buttons are also included and among them there are 3 WP7 buttons. Keep in mind that this design took Luke 15 hours to make and if you’re looking for specs, they’re nowhere to be found, since the creator of the HD3 left them up to the public to decide. The folks of XDA will suggest features and the designer will probably go with them.

We have to say this is a very nifty design and we really want the folks at HTC and Microsoft to check this out… one way or another. Also, the revamped HTC Sense looks nice, although MS said they won’t be accepting customizations on WP7.

iPhone Nano Mockups Start Popping Up

iPhone Nano Mockups Start Popping Up

Well, isn’t that sweet? We’ve just found an interesting article on 9to5mac.com referring to the future and smaller iPhone. While the iPhone 5 is supposed to sport a 4 inch display, Apple might also launch that mythical iPhone nano. This generated some mockups on the site we just mentioned.

Supposedly, the new smaller model will be codenamed N97 and it’ll be half the size of the current iPhone, while costing $49 on contract. Speculations also say that the new device is “all screen” and it goes all the way to the edges. The Home button will also be lacking… Will you buy such a gizmo or be happy with a mere iPhone concept?

The 9to5mac series of iPhone nano conceptual renderings continues with an image posted by commenter Jeremy (aka rade/eccles). As you can see, the idea of a full touchscreen without edges or borders is adopted. The display is pretty crisp and there doesn’t seem to be a change in resolution. What do you think of this iPhone design?

iPhone Nano Mockups Start Popping Up: Part 2Previous iPhone nano mockups can be found on our site and now we have a “fat boy” on our hands. This thick device is a supposed iPhone nano concept, created by S J and placing the home button between the headset jack and the on/off/sleep/awake button.

The display resolution is the same as the one on the iPhone 4 and the tiny smartphone weighs about 3,2 ounces. Will this “baby iPhone” fit your needs?

iPhone 6 Concept Takes Us Even Further Into the Future

iPhone 6 Concept Takes Us Even Further Into the Future

Designer Archil Vardidze recently showed us a new iPhone concept, that moves even further away from the current innovations. This is the iPhone 6, that got rid of the antenna problem by moving it externally. Button material has changed and the device is based on an aluminum shell.

Solar batteries are also featured on this handset, expanding the life of the iPhone 6 and as far as the design is concerned, the new iPhone is more square-ish, but still slim. The look of the Home button has changed and it makes it look as if it has push levels, possibly for more than one command. Also, this iPhone seems a big longer and wider than its predecessors.

iPhone 7 anyone? What do you think about this device?
