HTC HD Pro is a Worthy HTC HD2 Successor
05/08/2010 03:28
First things first: the HTC HD Pro is NOT a real device, so don’t bother asking for prices. This HTC concept looks like Windows Phone 7 material and we learn that it comes with an aluminum body, with a glass panel at the back, used to protect the camera lens. Said protection is due to “an electrochromic film”.
The smartphone design is only 11.5mm thick and the screen is a 4.3 inch capacitive display, the same size of the HTC HD2 screen. There’s also a 1500 mAh battery in the mix and you get all the connectivity options you need on the HTC HD Pro: 3.5mm audio jack, a microUSB port and a mini HDMI out for external display connections.
This device was created by Jukah and you can check out his Deviantart portofolio here, if you’re interested. Keep in mind that this designer also intends to create a Google Nexus Two and HTC HD3 concept, so we’ll keep him under observation. Great job, for now!

Nokia Kinetic Concept is Able to Stand Up On its Own
05/08/2010 03:25
Loading ... British designer Jeremy Hopkins decided to create an unique phone concept, Nokia Kinetic, that turns digital information into kinetic energy. What does this mean? Well, basically, the phone will stand up on its own, once you get a notification, thanks to a kinetic energy-based system.
This is a 2009 design, with the Nokia phone using a classic mini USB port, a camera, speaker and a bulky lower side. The front side looks like a hybrid between the N81 and iPhone 4 and if you’re wondering about the whole “standing up” thing, know that the device relies on an electromagnet. This mechanism is placed at its based and shifts the phone’s weight, to keep it upright.
At the end of the article you can also see MyNokiaBlog.com’s version of the Nokia Kinetic phone design, if you’re curious.

HTC 1 Concept
05/08/2010 03:23
Every once in a while we come across a concept cellphone that we feel will be turned into reality some day. This is also the case of Andrew Kim’s HTC 1 handset, pictured below. The designer who created this device wants more from the UI and hardware harmony of HTC phones, so he took matters into his own hands.

HTC 1 is a premium smartphone that runs Android, a very slim unit, with a rectangular body shape, inspired by Leica’s cameras. The device is made from machined brass, in order to look good, no matter how old it gets. Also, it incorporates a hidden speaker and an original stand, plus a tough overall build.
The Sense UI is simpler and evolved, with full screen widgets providing an in-depth experience. Another innovation is the UV light on the front of the phone, killing microorganisms that would come in contact with your face and hands. Social networking feats complete the package of the design, that you can see detailed on its creator’s website.
