Proxima

Johan Loekito has found a way for you not to lose your mobile phone ever again. It’s called Samsung Proxima and it’s a concept that involves a cellphone with a wristband acting like a dock. The handset is detachable and it gets pictured below.
There’s also a proximity sensor on board of the Samsung concept phone, making the wristband emit a tone or vibrate if the phone is too far from it. This also helps the user find the device with a single button press. Samsung Proxima is able to detect other users with the same phone in your area and lets you contact them.
Of course, privacy settings can be changed, so you can hide your whereabouts.

EC 509

Nokia’s more busy with real handsets these days, than with concepts, but we’re glad to have stumbled upon such a design, created by Matteo Trisolini. He made the EC509 Green Core phone for Nokia, as an eco-friendly device, that comes with a PRT packaging carton, that can be re-used in order to send back the handset to its manufacturer for service.
Nokia EC509 relies on kinetic energy for powering it up and, as you can see, it features a hole, used to spin and charge the phone, without even requiring a battery. This is a sustainable mobile phone, also featuring a recycled PET display cover, LED battery indicators and rubberised areas.

One such nifty initiative comes from José Ignacio Martínez, who created the very interesting iPod Shuffle2020, the portable music player of the year 2020. What’s surprising about this unit is that it comes with unlimited music and battery capacity.

Le fabricant nippo-suédois Sony Ericsson lève le voile sur son smartphone Xperia X8, dont nous parlions en début de semaine.
 Tournant sous environnement Android 1.6 Donut, et non Android 2.1 Eclair ou Android 2.2 Froyo comme on pouvait le penser ( mais une mise à jour ultérieure devrait être proposée ), ce smartphone se veut compact avec des dimensions 9,9 x 5,4 x 1,5 centimètre et léger avec un poids d'à peine 104 grammes.
D'un point de vue technique ensuite, c'est un terminal 2G / 3G / Wi-Fi équipé d'un grand écran LCD tactile capacitif 3 pouces en 16,7 millions de couleurs et dans une résolution 320 x 480 pixels avec fonction accéléromètre pour la rotation automatique de l'affichage et traitement anti-rayures, d'une puce pour la navigation GPS et d'un appareil photo numérique 3,2 Mégapixels avec fonction de géotagging et partage simplifié sur Facebook.

Il est également pourvu d'un lecteur multimédia, d'un tuner radio FM, d'une sortie audio 3,5 millimètres pour les écouteurs, d'un mémoire interne de 128 Mo, d'un port microSD / microSDHC pour les cartes mémoire jusqu'à 16 Go ( carte 2 Go incluse ), d'un port microUSB 2.0 et de la connectivité Bluetooth 2.1. Quant à son alimentation, elle est assurée par une batterie Lithium-Ion 1 200 mAh

Le constructeur nippo-suédois Sony Ericsson vient d'officialiser le Cedar, un téléphone mobile au format compact avec fonctions musicales.
Tout le monde n'est pas forcément à la recherche d'un téléphone portable avec écran LCD tactile de très grande taille et fonctionnalités en nombre. Certains désirent simplement un appareil pour appeler et envoyer des SMS, voire surfer de temps en temps sur le Web et écouter quelques musiques à l'occasion. Et c'est ceux-là que cible Sony Ericsson avec son nouveau modèle Cedar.
 Le téléphone mobile Sony Ericsson Cedar offre une compatibilité 2G / 3G, un écran LCD 2,2 pouces en 16,7 millions de couleurs et dans une résolution 240 x 320 pixels, un appareil photo numérique 2 Mégapixels avec zoom numérique 4x et géotagging, un lecteur multimédia, une radio FM avec fonction RDS, une sortie mini-jack 3,5 millimètres, une mémoire interne d'une capacité de 280 Mo, un port microSD / microSDHC acceptant les cartes mémoire jusqu'à 16 Go, un port microUSB 2.0 et une connectivité Bluetooth 2.1.
Aux dimensions 11,1 x4,9 x 1,6 centimètre pour un poids de 84 grammes, il est enfin livré avec une batterie lui procurant jusqu'à 4 heures et 40 minutes en communications 2G, jusqu'à 3 heures et 30 minutes en utilisation 3G et jusqu'à 485 heures en veille.
Quant à sa commercialisation, elle débutera dans le courant du troisième trimestre 2010.
