Nokia officialise sa tablette Nokia N900 sous Maemo 5

Comme prévu, Nokia dévoile sa nouvelle tablette Internet Nokia N900 utilisant le système Linux Mobile Maemo 5.
Le géant finlandais dévoile enfin la dernière version de ses tablettes Internet sous Linux avec l'annonce de la tablette Nokia N900 sous Maemo 5, aboutissement de sa stratégie d'exploration des produits mobiles connectés.
Stratégie qui fait couler beaucoup d'encre et laisse certains observateurs penser que Nokia pourrait se détourner de Symbian pour Linux dans ses smartphones, ce que dément régulièrement l'intéressée. Jusqu'à ce que... ?
Toujours est-il que nous avons affaire ici à une tablette destinée à un usage Internet mobile et non un smartphone, dans la lignée des produits déjà dévoilés précédemment qui couple un affichage tactile 3,5" 800 x 480 pixels et un clavier complet coulissant, assorti d'une connectique complète.
Le Nokia N900 est présenté comme une tablette polyvalente et multitâche, permettant " d'exécuter simultanément des dizaines d'applications dans autant de fenêtres, tout en utilisant les fonctions cellulaires, l'écran tactile et le clavier AZERTY ".
Caractéristiques Il faut dire que la tablette est équipée d'un processeur ARM Cortex-A8 600 MHz ( comme dans des smartphones de type iPhone ou Palm Pré ), dispose de 1 Go de mémoire allouée aux applications ( 256 Mo de RAM et 768 Mo de mémoire virtuelle ) et d'une accélération graphique OpenGL ES 2.0.
La navigation Web est assurée par son navigateur Mozilla avec compatibilité Adobe Flash 9.4 tandis que le service Nokia Messaging est intégré et permet de gérer jusqu'à 10 comptes de messagerie. Le Nokia N900 embarque 32 Go de mémoire interne, extensible par port microSDHC.
On y trouve les connectivités sans fil WiFi et Bluetooth, un module A-GPS ainsi qu'un accès HSPA ( 10 / 2 Mbps ) et un émetteur FM, une prise casque 3,5 mm et une sortie TV. Au dos, un APN 5 megapixels avec optique Carl Zeiss complète l'équipement. Nokia annonce que le système Maemo pourra être mis à jour automatiquement via Internet.
La tablette Nokia N900, dont l'autonomie annoncée est d'une journée, sera commercialisée en France à partir du mois d'octobre 2009 pour un prix de 649 € TTC. Elle sera présentée plus en détail à l'occasion du salon Nokia World 09, début septembre.
We’ve mentioned Sony Ericsson Kurara once before on our site, but now we have to detail it, in case you’re not familiar with this device. After stumbling upon it on the Esato board, as aconcept created by FlamEmo, we’ve come across a bunch of “live pictures” of the handset, available after the break.
Turns out that this is a Sony Ericsson phone capable of HD video recording and it sports a design that looks very much like that of SE Satio. Kurara should be running Symbian S60 5th edition and it also features an 8.1 megapixel camera and a 3.5 inch OLED display.
So, what’s the deal? Is this device real or a mere Photoshop work? We’ve yet to find an answer for this question, but maybe you can help…
We’ve just come across what seems to be a Photoshop work of a Samsung phone, pretending to be a real mobile phone. This seemingly new device is inspired by Samsung’s Crystal Design applied to the company’s LCD TVs. Expect this story to develop into something more interesting, as specs and probably live pictures leak out.
Facet Concept Comes With a Touchscreen and Tactile Keypad

This Nokia concept phone may look familiar to you, specially because we’ve seen it here a while back, under the name Black Facet. Now, it appears again, dubbed Nokia Facet and this seems to be the work of KnotDesign, a cellphone project that provides users with a brand new touch experience.
Nokia Facet uses “facets” that hide a tactile keypad beneath the surface and also give the handset a gem-like look, thanks to the many angles of the geometric surface. Multimedia connectivity is also supported on the Nokiaconcept and if we were to look for flaws, the device seems a bit too square-ish and short for our taste.
board member and great designer J. Havrlant has finished the Sony Ericsson Arashi concept phone, after showing us a teaser, a couple of days ago. We learn that the handset packs a 4 inch AMOLED touch display and a 12.1 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom. The designer claims that more details (and probably images) are coming soon and in case you’re wondering, this is a Symbian S60 device. Is this a cameraphone or simply a smartphone with a very, very good camera sensor? When discussing Sony Ericsson concepts, it doesn’t rain, it pours! No less than 3 new designs have hit the Esato board recently and probably the biggest waves were made by Kurara, some of the folks online mistaking it for a real device (or is it?).
We have a look at SE Arashi, pictured below and belonging to famous designer J. Havrlant.
It’s been a while since we saw his works on Esato and we’re guessing that Arashi is a cameraphone, with a full touchscreen display, tons of memory on board, Android or Symbian S60, plus a couple of other interestingfeatures. What do you say?
