Nene and Wallet
13/06/2009 01:08
Shane A. Bygrave or, as he’s known on the Esato board, echo.shane has just shown the world 2 brand new Sony Ericsson concepts, Nene, a handset that’s part of the Unlimited Entertainment series and SE Wallet, a concept we’ve seen before in a teaser.
Sony Ericsson Nene incorporates a 8.1 megapixel camera and I have to say that I love its colors and design.
The designer has promised that he’ll soon publish the specs and more pics of the concepts, but till then I can notice a pretty decent screen on the front side of the Nene phone. The keys below it seem touch sensitive, but I’m just guessing here, so don’t throw stones just yet.
Moving on to the Sony Ericsson Wallet, or the Z230-w12, as the designer calls it, I have to say that I don’t quite get what this product is, but we’ll get more info in the following days. It could actually be a wallet… like its name says.

Omnia Pro to Pack QWERTY Keyboard
12/06/2009 14:22
Omnia is already becoming a series of Samsung handsets, now that along with Omnia i900 and Omnia HD i8910, the manufacturer is planning to release an Omnia Pro model, featuring a full QWERTY keyboard.
Since it’s Sunday and there’s no concept in sight, we show you the mockup of the future device, done by the folks of samsung.hdblog.it
Samsung Omnia Pro will also feature a wide touchscreen and it’ll hit the market in July, for about $662. It’ll run Windows Mobile 6.1 and use a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash, image stabilizer and support for video recording. An upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5 should also be available and the display of the Pro is a 3.5 inch WVGA (800 x 480) touchscreen.

E1107 Solar Guru is the first solar powered phone on sale
12/06/2009 14:12
Samsung launched a solar powered phone but not the one you're thinking of. While we're waiting for the Blue Earth phone, the solar pioneer will be a low-end handset - the Samsung E1107 Solar Guru.
The Samsung E1107, known as Solar Guru or Crest Solar depending on region, is the first solar-powered phone to make its way to the market. The Blue Earth, which was announced back in February is admittedly more exciting but we'll have to wait some more (here's to hoping it's not just vapor ware).
Now before you throw your conventional charger in the bin we should clarify what "solar powered" actually means. 1 hour of solar charging gives you 5 to 10 minutes of talk time (depending on lighting conditions). That alone won't eradicate the need for charging from time to time but if you're in a area where electricity is not guaranteed (say, while camping) this could be a very valuable feature.
Aside from that, the Solar Guru seems to be based on the Samsung E1100 but with added FM Radio. The other specs are dual-band GSM, 1.52" 65K CSTN display, MP3 ringtones, flashlight, Mobile Tracker and a 800 mAh battery.
The phone will cost $59 and is already available in India. It will also be launched in Europe, southeast and southwest Asia and Latin America latter this month.
