    3d ipad

    09/10/2013 13:54

The folks of T3 have made a habit out of creating nifty concepts of yet unlaunched devices or even products that will never happen. Today we’re treated with a 12 inch iPad tablet of the future, that’s even got a video shown below.

3D iPad Pro Concept Render by T3; Apples Future Big Screen Tablet? (Video)

Dubbed the iPad Pro, this device is the fruit of the increasing Samsung competition in the tablet area. The design is much like the one of a bigger iPad Mini and by bigger I mean truly big. We’re talking about a 12.9 inch display tablet with Retina resolution, which equates to 2712 x 2048 in this case.

The product runs iOS 7 in the video below and it’s a very slim tablet with a quad core A7 chip with quad core graphics. The thickness is 9.4 mm and specs include a 720p FaceTime HD camera, WiFi and 4G LTE, 16, 32, 64 and 128 GB capacities and an 8 megapixel back camera. Fancy such a model?

    mini 2

    mini 2

Martin Hajek is one of the serious designers, who delivers concepts so close to reality that he never goes wrong with them. He rendered the iPad Mini and BlackBerry Z10 perfectly ahead of their launch and now he’s back with a fewiPad Mini 2 renders, but with a twist…

What if... the iPad Mini 2 Was Available in Two Versions? iPad Mini C and Mini S Rendered!

The designer imagined two versions of the new iPad Mini: an iPad Mini C and iPad Mini S. Just like the in the case of the iPhone 5s and 5c, the S unit is a flagship with a Retina display still at 7.9 inches and a gold case, among other flavours. Meanwhile, the iPad Mini C is a cheaper slate with a colored plasticky case and a lower price.

The overall design of the tablet remains the same as the one of the iPad Mini, of course except for the Touch ID sensor implementation on the iPad Mini S and the polycarbonate shell of the Mini C. Apple has been known to surprise users and analysts with such announcements, so will they deliver? Also what resolution will the iPad Mini C adopt?

    Lumia 1520

    Lumia 1520

    Nexus 5

    Nexus 5

Myce.com got their hands on a log from the Nexus 5 (also called LG D820 and Hammerhead) andAndroidWorld.it dug though it. Some 133 thousand lines were searched but the reward was probably worth it - a number of interning specs for the upcoming pure-Google phone were confirmed.

Most of the stuff is no surprise – a 5" screen (actually, 4.97") with 1080p resolution, 442ppi pixel density, a Snapdragon 800 chipset with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage (on that concrete model, there might be others with more and hopefully not less storage). The phone ran Key Lime Pie (a.k.a. Android 4.4 KitKat), build version KRS74H.

It seems that the camera has been changed to an 8MP snapper (the Nexus 4 also got a lower-res camera than the Optimus G it was based on). It's too early to tell if there will be optical image stabilization (probably not though). There's a 1.2MP front-facing camera too.

The Nexus 5 will pack dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and GPS connectivity. The model whose log file leaked ran on North American LTE bands, but we should expect a Euro version too.

Pieces of the leaked log with the salient info

The phone will have wireless charging built in and while battery capacity wasn’t in the logs, FCC docs point to a 2,300mAh unit. There will also be a full set of sensors – accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity and light sensors as well as a barometer. The FCC measured the phone at 131.9mm tall and 68.2 mm wide, there's no info on thickness.

A case maker, SPIGEN, puts the Nexus 5 launch date at October 31, a month from now.

    Thanks for the tip, Emanuele!
