    nokia 1661

Nokia 1661 (or 1662 as it will be known in some areas) will be the company's lowest cost color screen phone. According to the manufacturer the phone is designed to suit mostly the demands of the inhabitants of rural areas. Its features include flashlight, an FM radio and multiple phonebooks. The display on the phone will sport a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and will be capable of showing up to 65K colors.
The Nokia 1661 will have two dual-band GSM versions (850/1900 MHz and 900/1800 MHz) one of which will presumably be sold as Nokia 1662. They will both start shipping in the first quarter of next year, costing just about 30 euro (38 US dollars).

    nokia 6205

I’m not sure who will like this more, movie buffs or clamshell phone aficionados. And need I add in the legion of bat fans from all over the world that are eagerly awaiting the release of the last movie of Heath “Brokeback” Ledger? This is history, baby.

I’m talking about the official announcement made by Nokia and Verizon Wireless about the upcoming Nokia 6205 clamshell, which will be released in a special “The Dark Knight edition” model in time for the release of the movie The Dark Knight, which features none other than the caped crusader himself, Batman.
The Nokia 6205 is actually nothing more than a mid-range clamshell handset, but it offers a few interesting goodies nonetheless, and The Dark Knight edition model will surely be a collectors item.

A few of the Nokia 6205 The Dark Knight edition’s features include:

    - 1.3 megapixel camera with flash and 4x digital zoom
    - 58 MB internal memory expandable up to an additional 4 GB with an optional microSD memory card
    - Support for text, picture and video messaging
    - Get It Now® capable for downloading games, ringtones, wallpapers and other mobile content
    - VZ NavigatorSM-compatible for audible turn-by-turn directions and location information
    - Mobile Web for access to the latest news, sports, weather and more
    - Voice dialing and voice commands for touch free phone operation
    - Built-in speakerphone
    - Bluetooth-enabled for Wireless Headset Support

It should work fine under Verizon Wireless’s network, and it supports the V CAST Music service as well as V CAST Video entertaining, for use during those times when you don’t feel like watching the pre-loaded The Dark Knight full movie trailer.

The Nokia 6205 The Dark Knight edition will be available on Verizon Wireless’s web site starting June 15th for $69.99 after an instant $50 rebate with a 2-year contract. The standard Nokia 6205 model, meanwhile, will come out both online and at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores after a month. It’s a shame they couldn’t include a bat belt in the packaging, though.

    nokia N-XT

    nokia N-XT

Nokia concept phones are nothing new and neither are unrealistic representations of devices that some of us would wish to exist.

Nokia N-XT is yet another concept, but this one seems quite realistic. And, interestingly enough, it was created out of disappointment. Of what? you might ask.

Well, the designer of N-XT, Chris from Symbian Freak, thinks that Nokia doesn’t actually know what gadget freaks really want from a new Nseries smartphone. So he came up with the N-XT. Which, he says, is made public as an open source idea that the Finnish manufacturer can use for creating an upcoming Nseries multimedia computer.
This handset should come as the ultimate Nseries. It is designed to incorporate a display that can both slide and swivel, turning the N-XT into a device that might be called a smart-video-photo-projector-phone.

The capabilities that Nokia N-XT should have could make it not only the best Nokia ever, but also one of the best mobile devices, regardless of brand. And to convince you of this, here are the main features of the concept:

        *
          4.1 inch full-touch display with a Wide-VGA resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and 16 million colors
        *
Symbian S60 5th Edition Touch interface
        *
          8-way D-pad
        *
          quad-band WCDMA connectivity
        *
8 MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens, optical zoom, auto focus, face detection, xenon flash & dual-LED flash and video recording (WVGA at 30fps)
        *
          Dedicated graphics processor unit (GPU)
        *
          Accelerometer
        *
          A-GPS and compass
        *
          Built-in DLP 720p projector
        *
          Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
        *
          Audio & Video players
        *
          FM radio and FM transmitter
        *
          3.5mm audio jack
        *
24GB of internal memory plus microSDHC support
        *
          1,800 mAh battery

Quite impressive, I’d say. The thing is: will we get to see the N-XT in reality? We might, if the Nokia bosses take a peek at it and decide to turn it into one of the next Nseries smartphones.
